Microsoft’s Panos Panay teased the new Photos app earlier this month. We got a closer look at the app when it started shipping to Dev Channel Insiders.

The new Photos app has a refreshed look that lines up with Windows 11, including rounded corners and the Mica theme. It also has a carousel view, the option to select multiple images, and the ability to view photos side-by-side. The Photos app also mentions extensions from the that will let people “edit photos like a pro.”

Windows 11 starts shipping next month, so people won’t have to wait that long to try out the improved Photos app. If you don’t want to wait until October 5, 2021 to get Microsoft’s new operating system, you can upgrade to Windows 11 right now.
