Halo Infinite beta: List of all maps and modes in multiplayer test

Get briefed on the maps and modes you’ll be trying ahead of launch.

Halo Infinite is set to launch at some point in Holiday 2021 and the developers at 343 Industries are conducting extensive testing to make sure the game lands as smoothly as possible. As such, the Halo Infinite beta signups are taking the form of a series of Technical Previews. Players who sign up for the Halo program can be invited and take part in various “Flights.”

While not everything will be available to test from the very beginning, we do know what maps and modes players will get to try out with the very first flight. Here’s a list of all maps and modes in the upcoming multiplayer test.

List of all maps in Halo Infinite multiplayer test

Halo Infinite is a massive game, and we’re working to compile the complete list of Halo Infinite weapons, list of Halo Infinite vehicles and list of Halo Infinite maps that’ll be in the final game. More will also be added post launch in the game’s ongoing seasons.

For the first technical preview originally running July 29 through August 1, which was then extended through August 2 players will get to test three maps: Bazaar, Live Fire and Recharge. The second technical preview ran for two weekends: Sep. 23 through Sep. 27 and Sep. 30 through Oct. 4. For the second test, the three maps in the first test were all included, as well as two new maps: Behemoth and Fragmentation.

Bazaar

The East African Protectorate’s plan to rebuild the glassed urban of Mombasa was ambitious and expensive, but Project Rebirth investment by the UEG and UNSC activity at the nearby Voi Excession has revitalized some sections of the metropolis.

Behemoth

It has survived for a hundred millennia, but this ring still holds fast to secrets yet unknown.

Fragmentation

Now more than ever, Installation 07’s serene surface belies a deeper strain and conflict.

Live Fire

Instructors at the Avery J. Johnson Academy of Military Science ensure their Spartans are prepared for any challenge that a hostile galaxy throws at them.

Recharge

Resource infrastructure facilities such as those run by Axys’ hydroelectric division help maintain stable energy grids for colony worlds throughout the UEG.

Halo Infinite’s multiplayer is composed (broadly) of two parts: Arena and Big Team Battle. Arena is the classic, 4 vs. 4 squad action on smaller-scale maps, while Big Team Battle is the massive, 12 vs. 12 engagements with vehicles on larger maps.

Halo Infinite is also introducing Bots for the first time in Halo Multiplayer, which is why this first technical preview is focused on testing Bot gameplay. Bots come in four difficulties: Recruit, Marine, ODST and Spartan. The higher the difficulty, the more skill the Bots will demonstrate, using the map more efficiently and rushing to grab equipment and power weapons. Bots do not receive any damage, health or speed buffs however.

Weapon Drills are also new to Halo Infinite as part of the Academy training mode. A Weapon Drill gives players a firing range with bots, so they can test out exactly how a weapon functions and feels. The following Weapon Drills were available in the July 29 – August 1 technical preview.

MA40 AR
BR75
MK50 Sidekick
CQS48 Bulldog
Needler
VK78 Commando
S7 Sniper
Plasma Pistol
Pulse Carbine
Ravager
Heatwave

Skewer

Meanwhile, the following Weapon Drills were available for players in the Sep. 23 – Sep. 27 and Sep. 30 – Oct. 4 technical preview:

MA40 AR

BR75
MK50 Sidekick
CQS48 Bulldog
Needler
VK78 Commando
S7 Sniper
Plasma Pistol
Pulse Carbine
Ravager
Heatwave
Skewer
Shock Rifle

Finally, while not a true “gameplay” mode, players will also get to test a sample of the Battle Pass system, though it’s important to note that it won’t necessarily be representative of the same order of items unlocked when the game actually launches later in 2021.

This includes getting some Armor Coatings to try out the customization options. Anything unlocked will not carry over to the full game though, so don’t get too attached.

Plenty of time left

If you haven’t been selected yet to take part in the technical preview, don’t despair. There are many more flights coming and 343 Industries will be opening up the availability to more and more registered players as time goes on. A wide ranger of tests is necessary to ensure that this could end up being one of the best Xbox games available.

Halo Infinite is currently scheduled to arrive at some point in Holiday 2021 and will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Xbox Cloud Gaming and PC.
